Wolverton is responsible for the data analysis and subsequent feasibility study, concept study, concept report and design of solutions for safety issues identified across Districts 3 and 6 in Georgia. To date, our team has been assigned several traffic studies to identify safety improvements at key intersections in both Districts.
We work with GDOT to analyze the site for any solutions to safety issues within the project limits, including removal of traffic signal, adding protected left-turn phase, sight distance improvements, better signage, etc. Proposed safety improvements include innovative intersection designs such as roundabouts, CFIs and others.
Each project is analyzed using an Intersection Control Evaluation (ICE) tool to determine the best method for operation. The team then completes a feasibility study to further study the impacts on implementing these recommendations, and, if warranted, we complete concept drawings, cost estimates and a concept report for the project before moving into preliminary and final plans.
