I-CGP-3 Gas Line Installation
Wolverton provided land surveying services and land acquisition management for the construction of an approximately eight-mile four-inch steel gas line located in White County, Georgia, along State Route 75 from the city limits of Cleveland, Georgia, to the City of Helen, Georgia. We researched deed, plat and GDOT records and then surveyed the right-of-way limits of State Route 75 in order to stake out the right-of-way limits of the highway. We coordinated with AGL and the construction contractors to ensure the pipeline was installed in the back five feet of the right-of-way limits and advised parties of issues along the route where difficulties would be encountered. We then researched records and provided detailed surveys of the downtown area of the City of Helen and advised of issues with the initial design and specific city street right-of-way encumbrances. Wolverton created easement documents for regulator stations as well as the pipeline route alterations. As part of our scope of work, we managed the land acquisition efforts for this project. We coordinated the agent’s ability to approach property owners as needed, along with meetings with City of Helen officials. The agents were successful in obtaining numerous easements from the City of Helen as street right-of-way issues were realized. The agents operated from offices within the Wolverton corporate office allowing for seamless communication and interaction between the surveyors and agents.
