Jerry C. (Jay) Wolverton, Jr., PE, named the Engineer of the Year in Private Practice at tonight’s engineering awards gala. Jay is the Chief Executive Officer and Founder of Wolverton and has over 32 years of experience in civil engineering.
In its 26 years in business, Jay has grown the firm from a one-person business to almost 100 employees. At each point of growth for the firm, Jay’s vision and focus was on creating a sustainable and long-term company that achieved its daily mission of improving the quality of life for its clients and the public as a whole. In addition to his involvement at Wolverton, he is formerly the President of the Board of Directors for the Design Professional Risk Control Group (DPRCG), Past Chairman of the American Council of Engineering Companies of Georgia (ACEC Georgia) and on the Board of Directors for the Council for Quality Growth. Jay earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering at Tennessee Technological University and is licensed in 32 states. Outside of work, Jay is the loving husband to his wife of 32 years, Ann, and proud father of three grown children, Christina, Ashley and Andrew. He enjoys traveling and playing golf in his personal time.
